Summersville Lake is located near the town of Summersville in Nicholas County, West Virginia. With nearly 2,800 acres and 60 miles of shoreline, it is West Virginia's largest lake. The lake boasts exceptional water clarity and a scenic contrast of terrain ranging from rolling hills to vertical rock cliffs. Water releases from Summersville Dam create world class rafting through the Gauley River National Recreation Area. Nearly one million visitors are attracted to Summersville Lake annually for exceptional boating, rock climbing, camping, picnicking, hunting, fishing, scuba diving, and hiking opportunities.

From Route 19 take Route 129 to the dam, office and lake.
